Sitting on a beach,
Breathing fresh air
My only company is loneliness
It looks me in the eyes, it always has been there
And for once, it is my friend.
I could not have guessed
I finally have time
Time to compare
I set my mind free and it wonders
My eyes observe the waves,
Actually I stare.
The waves imitate the sound of thunder
Pretty sight, nice environment
I hear the whispering of the wind
It seems to know the unusual words
For the mood I’m in.
As I let my thoughts carry sentences to rhyme
I’ve got the answer; ” it’s the question I can’t find.”
Am I in trance?
Has the water hypnotized me?
Am I only a coincidence under these circumstances?
See the waves fighting the endless battle with the shore
They break, get chased away,
but they’ll return for more
With a twig I make senseless drawings in the sand
Which I don’t recognize
which I can’t understand
Is this world suggestive or is it real?
Who knows the creator may never reveal
The search for eternity may never reach the end
I’m upset by the figures I’m drawing in the sand
Lost on the beach like the sand, like the sea
I’m so afraid no one up there can identify me
I want to be a face.
I want to have a name
I can’t be a lifeless pawn in a game
Could I ever learn from the sand and sea?
The seagulls above me are screaming at me
They just want to know why I do not fly,
And join them up there when they reign their sky.
The seagull doesn’t need the answers
The seagull has got all he needs
The sky to reign
The water that feeds him
And a pair of wings to be free.
