Love’s Labour Finally Lost
The pain in my heart is unbearable
Thinking of the beginning
If you were the neighbour next door, unbelievable
How different our lives may have been, grinning
I don't care what you think now
Just speak from the heart
And sending you this poem may somehow
Let me have a new start
It's just strange how things can be
Not being able to be more than friends
And how important you actually are to me
Will we ever be together? That depends...
Apparently not, you can be so cold
And yet so hot, but a heart of gold
Still shines in that chest of yours
Difficult to show what you feel
Showing the feelings that it stores
It all sounds so surreal
The day we met
I saw you sitting there
And I will never forget
How, when and where
It was so special to me
It rang a bell in my heart
Saying: ‘This is he,
He, who is your other part.’
Was I mistaken by thinking this?
Waiting for that long last kiss
My hand tangled in his
And thinking: this is my absolute bliss
I think I was
Does he think the same?
And I really do not know because
In and out of my life he came
Swept me off my feet
And never saw him again
Arranged for us to meet
Never happened, but when you asked me when
I couldn’t see you
Thought I couldn’t let you get
Into my heart again, it’s true
And just think of the day when we first met
Regret is such a painful thing
And I wish I could see you now
But falling in love is such a painful sting
And you my heart would never disallow
You are not up to it
To us
And I respect that, and with
Pain in my heart, thus
I will say
I love you one last time
And pray
You’ll love this rhyme
