Giants don’t cry
I stood before a growling giant,
And his tears made me laugh,
A sobbing hulk, softly weeping,
Seems so unreal, when you know he’s got no heart.
Still I put my hand on his shoulder,
And asked him why so sad?
The sobbing creature turned and shivered,
And said to me: “I heard you laugh!”.
I know that was not kind of me to do,
But to me this is a strange sight,
To see a monster of your kind… cry,
To see you weep without a heart.
So again I ask you, gentle giant,
Why are you so very sad?
Don’t you know that can’t change this,
You can never have a heart.
