Old soul
I am an old soul, I said
seeking for a shape to catch me
I have seen this place before
these whispering trees and lonely waters
Don’t ask me to explain, my friend
what can’t be understood
I have come from far away countries,
circling around human kind
But never found my home, I cried
I was just a child
I won’t be staying long, my brother
with all these things to see,
with stories to tell and roads to travel
tides to change and oceans to sail
I have come from thousands of years
witnessed both battles and love affairs
losing track of time, on my way to the future
and since it’s not here, I must move on
Believe me it is for the best
that you let me let you go
but I will find mind my peace, at last
and on the day I do
forever I’ll be staying home
