The wolf
Mystical gracious and one with the night
Fast is his run, royal his might
A ‘beast’, which stands above us in every way
Condemned to death by the white man, the wolf stands
He lives like his red brother in solitude and he is alone
Why does the white man have no feeling, is he made out of stone?
Fate catches up with us all
The wolf has seen the red man rise and fall
His brother, the one who understood his call
When you are long gone
The white man will see the error of his way
But will it be on time I wonder and say
The warnings clear as ice
All of the sacrifice,
The white man a fool
My dear damned one
When you are gone away
A part of you will always stay
With you I identify myself
Like you a shadow which didn’t last
And now lingers in the past
