I do not want to cheer and sing for all eternity
I want to sleep in silence without any dreams
a joyous golden city holds no charm for me
free of all aches and pain in still tranquility
eternal sleep while my progeny sets forth
blooming or drifting looking for unanswerable answers
not having asked for life they also must endure
the pangs of youth and accepting of life’s death
the unending circle in which I am a link
from ancestors to offspring as nature did intend
