The Drifter
The drifter borrowed life’s paint
Something he couldn’t buy
He drifted along his paintings
Imaged truth within a lie
Sentenced to this colourful burden
He drew a self-portrait that wasn’t his
For as borrowed paint
Could never for fill his freedom wish
Caught in flawed reflection
The drifter lost all hope
Borrowing the view of his world
Was more then he could cope
