Madness
Clickety tock says the clock,
But what is ticking?
Counting away on the wall,
Or underneath the sofa?
I hear other peoples voices,
And yet nobody speaks
They all just argue inside me.
A bunch of noisy freaks!
A wall with padded windows,
So that I might throw a fit.
Jibberish I mumble,
I think I’m losing it.
A needle to calm me,
And a pill to shape my mind
So that I might become normal
Instead of unusually kind.
They strap me into bed,
So that I don’t fall out,
But I forgot to tell them
That I don’t need to shout
The next morning they woke me,
And a bright red pill they brought,
And I laughed insanely,
Maddness cannot be fought!!!
