Dreams Run Free
I stumbled into a girl this morning,
And she looked at me rather amused,
I asked her why she was smiling,
She said, its not every day you bump into the man of your dreams.
That left me speechless as it would any man.
And coming from this complete stranger it seemed surreal.
Nevertheless I answered, how’s that? You don’t know me yet.
She said, that’s ok, you’ll get used to me.
I looked at her and noticed, how her eyes twinkled in the morning light,
And her smile was radiant, if not warm.
So I sat down next to her, after I picked up her bag.
She said, so? Are you going to tell me your name?
Introductions are in order, to get to know each other,
But somehow, I was afraid to tell her.
How could she be so certain, if this is so unreal?
She said to me, I know this may sound funny,
But I’ve met you in my dreams, and know your gentle heart,
So please let me love you, let my dreams come true.
Dreams run free in an unclouded mind, is what I told her,
And I kissed her sweet goodbye.
The next day (dreams run free II)
I was just minding my own business as usual,
Just moving towards my destination,
I walked passed that bench where I met her,
And she was sitting there, smiling like yesterday.
I stopped, and looked at her real closely,
Looking for something that wasn’t there.
She said to me, come closer, don’t leave like before,
I took one step closer, but my mind took two steps back.
She said to me, why so careful? I’m not going to bite you.
I know you are still in shock of what I told you,
But it’s the truth, honest to god.
You are the man I’m looking for, and I was made for you.
The surreal atmosphere kept growing, and my doubt remained.
I said, why so certain? I walked away from you.
That’s ok, no matter, because I know your heart is true.
My heart may be true, but what if it is not true to you?
Doubt is all that stands in your way, why not let it go?
Because if I do, I might not find my one true love.
She said, you’ve found her, you only need to see,
That dreams run free, but yours are clouded by doubt.
Third encounter (dreams run free III)
Last time she left me puzzled, and walked away.
Even her pace was confident as she said goodbye.
And left me sanding there, in doubt.
That was yesterday, another moment that passed.
Today I decided to go to that same bench and remove my doubt.
She was sitting there, watching me draw nearer with a smile,
When I reached her she said, so you’ve made up your mind,
You finally decided to give in, to blind faith.
I just stood there and said nothing, finally I sat down,
Can it be true? How did you know I would come back?
I didn’t, I’ve been sitting here just waiting, since that dream.
But why? A dream is only a dream, not reality.
Reality is merely a dream, no difference,
If you choose to follow you dreams, you just might get there,
So that’s why I sat down here every day, waiting for that dream, you.
And as you can see, my dream came true.
But what if I walk away and don’t come back?
You won’t, dreams keep repeating themselves,
And that is why you keep coming here.
Until you wake up.
But what if I walk away and don’t come back?
You won’t, dreams keep repeating themselves,
And that is why you keep coming here.
So please, don’t, just let your dreams run their course,
