Standing in front of a locked door.
The winds of winter ravaging around me,
I’m staring through a window,
out looking for you.
All the while I stagger around,
desperately shouting your name.
Hoping for an answer I know will never come.
Dragging myself through the snow,
suddenly a voice speaks to me from within the wind.
Calling to me ever so softly,
Filled with promises of warmth and tranquility .
I stumble off into the shadows of the night,
Only to chase the wind for hours on end.
With every breath a torture,
I drop to my knees and burry my head in my hands.
Tears try to find their way between my fingers,
only to fall frozen to the ground.
As cold fingers grasp tightly around my heart,
I close my eyes.
A last cry for forgiveness,
Dead on my frozen lips.
